frienships, losing friends, moments, moving on, writer's block

It’s been a slow year for writing on anything personal. Things were way over my head with work, and personal life has been less traumatising to be writing on. I think those souls suffering have a knack to put things together in a manner that really reaches out to one’s soul. For me, I had lesser sufferings of the traumatised soul to pen personal rants on. Probably for good reason.

I have come to realise that it that time of year, where I have lost patience with those that make life difficult for me. This involves telling people the truth about what they are doing, and how their self centered behaviour cannot be a justification for wasting my time, lying to me, or simply complicating my life. It is not a lie if I say that this has reasonably made me re-evaluate my “friends” list. And I am starting to believe in all those articles about how growing up is about having fewer friends who are closer to you, and who respect you and your time.

Life moves one, with different people in our lives, with new faces, new circumstances and reasons for happiness. It’s all a matter of choice in life, we pick what makes us happy, what makes lives change for the good, what contributes best to the happiness of most. We grow up to appreciate the tough decisions, and then what one values. You open your eyes, and then move on. No point in getting stuck, and happiness is at one’s reach. It is a matter of making the correct choices, and being able to live with them.

And here’s to hoping that I would be able to discover writing again, hopefully soon.

indifference, kiss, moments

He was at his nocturnal rounds, pacing in all aimlessness. She seated at the steps, with puffs of smoke that blow without rhythm, interrupted by occasional coughing. A sign that reminded her that She had lost touch with her inner being, i.e. the tobacco being. She tried thinking Zen as his steps be heard around her.

His t-shirt, she did not like. But, kept mum, she was too tired. He was becoming tiring. Or rather had become tiring. Pacing slows, gives way to words.

“I am going to bed” he says.

“ahuh”.

Nothing more nothing less.

A kiss on the shoulder she feels but remains the statue she was, the whole night, while he toyed with emotions with indifference.

“You want me to leave the pack for you?” his voice, questions, no answers.

A kiss on the forehead. A shadow lost in the shadows in the dark.

Cigarette butts in hand, she walked, to the sea.

caring, memories, moments, son, sun shine, wedding

It was a beautiful wedding. She thought as she went through their wedding photos. He and she were both smiling, and he looked the self she fell in love with, minus the beard. She has her motherly look on him, the one she used to have when he was up to mischief, or was acting cute. She wondered how things could go so wrong, and yet things could look so beautiful on photos.
She remembered him pulling out all the pins in her hair, in her sari, and helping her out of the jacket. He had been helpful and caring. Though they had slept in their side of the bed, she staying awake while he had fallen asleep fast.

Life had changed fast, for the best at times and for the worse at others. From either side of the bed, they had merged to hug each other to sleep, and huddle against each other in their sleep and for him to forcibly be woken up from his sleep from her kisses, while he childishly tried to escape from them not yet awaken and half in his sleep. She liked their mornings, where she tried to get him out of bed, while he crawled back on and slept letting her bug him for another two or three hours.

Moments of the past linger, while their baby moved within her soon awaiting his entrance to sunshine. She wondered if his dad would ever see him, whether he felt anything for his son. All she knew was that she would have to learn to live with and without his memories, as time moves on, and hopefully till she has moves on for her sake and her son’s.
